Saturday 18th September saw Harry Hollingsworth, a player from our improver squad competed in his first ever Para Grand Prix at the Sheffield Institute of Sport.
In the morning Harry competed in the open event, where all classes are mixed. Harry had to play against some very tough and experienced opponents, who had been in the grand prix series for a very long time. This gave Harry a great experience and allowed him to see the high standard that British para table tennis has to offer. Harry quickly grew into the competition and started taking players closer in games, taking one player in his group very close, losing 11-13 in the final set.
In the afternoon, Harry competed in the class 9/10 competition. Harry again had some very tough matches against some very experienced opponents. He showed great fight and gained lots of experience throughout the day. Harry was in his element and thoroughly enjoyed competing in the competition, so we’re sure to hear more about his Para Grand Prix performances in the future.
