Over at Worksop, Nottinghamshire, we have recently taken over the running of the table tennis at Redlands Table Tennis Centre. Having already had our coaches working within the primary school, this has been a simple transition. We now offer a number of different table tennis sessions running over in Worksop at Redlands Table Tennis Centre, all now listed on our events page, including the Worksop League. These cover open practice sessions, junior coaching sessions, individual coaching sessions and local Worksop League matches. All coaching sessions are led by qualified and experienced coaches who have coached and competed at high levels. Find out more below.
Our open practise sessions are perfect for all ages and abilities. Whether you are looking to practise for an upcoming competition, wanting to get back into the sport after a number of years out, completely new to the sport, or just looking to have a hit with a friend, these sessions covers all bases. We currently have three of these sessions a week running at Redlands Table Tennis Centre.
Our junior group coaching sessions are for those youngsters that are wanting to learn more about the game, and improve their skills within table tennis. These sessions focus on, mastering the fundamentals of table tennis, before improving on your quality, accuracy and game knowledge. This will be done through, players being set lots of different challenges, game-based play as well as some competitions too. This session currently happens once a week at Redlands Table Tennis Centre.
Individual coaching sessions are available with a coach of your choice. Sessions are booked directly with the coach and sessions are available to everyone. These sessions aim to target individual players needs and are a fantastic way to develop and progress quicker. Individual coaching sessions allow coaches to direct all of their attentions on that one individual player, allowing them to cater everything that they do within the session to developing them as not only a table tennis player but also as a person too. Individual coaching slots are available on two separate days at Redlands Table Tennis Centre.

Redlands Table Tennis Centre, but more Redlands Primary School, has got a very good and steep history within Table Tennis. Over the years, the school has produced countless numbers of players that have gone on to local, county, regional, national and some even international success. The school also has three National titles to its name, 2000 Girls U11 School Team Champions, 2005 Boys U11 School Team Champions and 2019 Girls U11 School Team Champions. They have also had countless School Team finalists, and runners-up in the competition too. Some of these players, then went on to represent England within the International Schools competition, with some going on to win titles within these competitions too. Here’s to many more successes over the years to come!
Redlands has some other notable achievements through history too. One of which, is none other than England and Great Britain International Sam Walker, who represented Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympics. Sam came from Redlands Primary school, and won all the National schools titles through all the age groups. Another noticeable achievement was from Sarah Perks, who again a former Redlands school child, went on to win the Girls U16 National Schools titles in both 2004 and 2005, and the Girls U19 National Schools title in 2006. Redlands Primary School, are quite rightly, very proud of their achievements over the years, and as a club we are honoured to be able to run the external table tennis provision at the centre, as well as our coaches leading the table tennis provision within school too.
