Success at the Hull 1 Star

Success at the Hull 1 Star

On Sunday 10th October 4 of our players from Blitz TTC travelled to Hull where they competed in the Hull 1 one-star competition. Players in attendance were Joel Smith, Micah Smith, Martha Wild and David Melling who was making his competition debut.

The day proved to be a successful day with Joel Smith winning the under 15 boys and Martha Wild coming runner up in the under 13 girls. Micah Smith had some close matches making it into two semi-finals, where he was knocked out by his elder brother Joel in the semi-final of the under 15 boys. Martha Wild also managed to play very well in the under 15 girls finishing 3rd in her round robin group only losing 2-3 to the overall winner. Joel Smith also competed in the under 17 boys where he came runner up in his group before losing in the quarter final showing that his hard work in training is starting to come through into matches. David Melling played some great table tennis, learning an awful lot during his first experience of a competition.

All our players represented the club really well and showed great team spirit, supporting each other throughout the day. It was lovely to hear such positive comments about our club and players from other coaches and parents.
